The Keda Local Action Group took a Study Visit to Borjomi
On 5-7 July, the study visit of the Keda Local Action Group (LAG) in Borjomi was held in the framework of the EU-supported ENPARD project “Keda LEADER.” The visit’s objective was to exchange experience and information between the Keda and Borjomi LAGs.

The working meeting was conducted by representatives from the two LAGs during the three-day visit. Participants at the meeting discussed their experience with LAG operations. The Borjomi LAG shared its experience on the development of its Local Development Strategy and more details about the grant competitions. Site-visits and meetings with local EU beneficiary entrepreneurs were also held during the stay in Borjomi Municipality.

According to Keda LAG participants of the study tour, information and knowledge exchange during the visit in Borjomi was very interesting and important to create new partnerships and gain valuable knowledge about the best practices.

Keda LAG continues working on finalizing the Local Development Strategy (LDS) and aims to announce its first grant competition based on the strategic objectives identified under the LDS, starting this fall.

The project, Keda Leader, is implemented with the financial support from the EU via CENN, in partnership with the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG), Institute of Democracy (IoD) and the Austrian Institute for Regional Studies and Spatial Planning (ÖIR).

The EU is supporting agriculture and rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme., implemented since 2013 with a total budget of EUR 179.5 million (2013-2022). The main goal of ENPARD is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia. More information about ENPARD is available at: www.enpard.ge
