EU supported Media Tour took place in Keda Municipality
On June 12-15, EU’s partner organisation CENN hosted a media tour in the municipality of Keda, Adjara AR under the EU-supported ENPARD project “Keda Leader.” Main objective of the tour was to promote local human and natural potential of Keda. Up to 20 representatives from different media outlets met with successful local entrepreneurs and visited cultural heritage and natural sites.

The participants of the media tour were introduced to the EU’s support to Georgia’s agriculture and rural development under the ENPARD programme. In particular, the journalists were informed about the actions supported by EU within the ongoing rural development project in Keda.

In the framework of the tour, two training sessions were held on the topics of high interest for modern media: the editor in chief of the National Geographic Magazine Georgia, Natia Khuluzauri, discussed certain challenges regarding writing scientific articles in a popular manner, and the Radio Liberty journalist, George Gogua, discussed the relevance of on-the-go mobile media.

Now that the tour is over, participants are expected to present their creative and innovative visions of Keda in the form of articles, photo essays, TV and video reports, blogs, and vlogs, which will support the improvement of the touristic and investment climate in Keda Municipality.

The project, Keda Leader, is implemented with the financial support from the EU by CENN in partnership with the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG), Institute of Democracy (IoD) and the Austrian Institute for Regional Studies and Spatial Planning (ÖIR).

The EU is supporting agriculture and rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme. Implemented since 2013 with a total budget of EUR 179.5 million (2013-2022). The main goal of ENPARD is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia. More information on ENPARD is available at: www.enpard.ge
